Celebration of the Word

What is meant by Prayer and Liturgy?

Prayer and Liturgy sessions aim to promote spiritual, moral and cultural development.

It does not have to take place in a school assembly and can be done with smaller groups

in individual classes. While these acts follow a broadly-Christian theme, schools try and encourage

children to reflect upon their own beliefs while taking part.

Examples of Prayer and Liturgy:

Songs and hymns sung in assembly

Reading of psalms and religious passages

Class-based reflection on religious stories
