Parent Support Advisor (PSA)

What is a Parent Support Advisor?

 

Working with families, connecting home and school

 

PSAs are a bridge between school and home.  I am Mrs Scott.  My aim is to support our families so that children are able to enjoy and achieve in their time at Holy Family.What can I do?  Listen to parents and children.  Offer support and advice.  Signpost you to other support services and agencies.

 

What can I offer?

 Confidentiality. Impartiality.  Direct support.  Information.

 

What support can I offer?  

Advice about your child's behaviour.  Improving your child's attendance and punctuality.  One to one support.  Behaviour management.  Links to Parenting 2000.  Health and well-being.  Parenting advice.  Help in finding adult education courses.

 

What can you as a parent / carer / child talk to me about?

 Isolation.  Loneliness.  Family breakdown.  Bereavement. Financial worries.  Anything that worries you.

 

I am able to offer help, advice and support to all parents / carers and children of Holy Family Catholic Primary School.  I am available mornings from 8.30am and after school from 3.30pm to 4pm.  I am usually on the playground between 8.50am and 9am.  You can contact me by phone (01704 213084), if I am unavailable please leave a message and I will get back to you.
