Marie Hilton - Headteacher
I am thrilled to be the headteacher here at Holy Family, with effect from September 2023. I was previously the headteacher at a primary school in Wrightington; I had been the headteacher there since 2014. Prior to this I taught in Y1 through to Y6. I have a BA Honours degree in English and Primary Education. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs (SENCo Award) as I was the SENCo in Wrightington. I am part of the safeguarding team here at Holy Family. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends and walking my dog. I have a passion for gardening.

Lorna Perry - Chair of Governors/Foundation Governor
It is a privelege to be elected as Chair of Governors and Foundation Governor at a school that I myself attended many years a go. By becoming a Governor it allows me to give back to the school that gave me so much when I was a pupil. I am a Qualified Solicitor and a keen cricketer and play for my local women's team. In addition I enjoy lots of lovely walks and being outdoors with my children and family.

Craig Houghton - LA Governor
I have been the Local Authority Governor for Holy Family since November 2019. I am vested specifically in the welfare of both pupils and colleagues along with the financial stability of the school; supporting an environment the enables growth for all. Holy Family and the team around it is very important to me, given I was once a pupil. My eldest son is also currently a pupil and my youngest will hope to join him in the next few years. I currently work for a multi-national Retailer looking at Store Experience and Service Propositions. Outside of working and being a Governor, I help run a local grassroots football team of which I am also a Committee member.

Anna Loveless - Staff Governor
I have a Bachelor of Education (Hons) degree with a subject specialism in Art and Design. As part of my degree I also had a specialist focus on teaching in lower primary. I have been a teacher at Holy Family for 22 years and during that time I have worked in Reception primarily but also in Year 1 and 2. I have co-ordinated a number of subjects through the years - Art and Design, Music, IT, RE and I've been the KS1 coordinator and DSL for over 10 years. My role as Assistant headteacher for KS1 and Inclusion, includes the SENDCO role and I was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs (SENCO Award) in 2018.

Fr Kevin - Foundation Governor
I am Canon Kevin McLoughlin and I have been a Priest for twenty-six-years prior to which I spent twenty-two great years in retail. I come from a large family and but sadly did not have a great experience of School myself way back in the 60’s. I left at the age of fifteen and began a twenty two year career with the Burton Group following ten years as Area and Regional Manager for the Top Man chain. I have been Parish Priest of Holy Family for three years following several previous parishes including in St. Helen’s, Fazackerley and Sparrow Hall, and five years as the Spiritual Director of the Royal English College in Valladolid Spain. In my commitment to the school I am particularly interested in helping the community links between Holy Family Parish and Holy Family school to grow closer.

Adrian Cannell - Foundation Governor
I have been a Foundation Governor at Holy Family since October 2022. I am a member of the Finance & Staffing Committee and the named link governor for STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and the website. I am a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church, where I am a reader, Eucharistic Minister and the parish CAFOD volunteer. I hope to be able to help to maintain strong relationships between the church and school. I now work at Great Crosby Catholic Primary School as an IT Technician, having retired from teaching there in July 2022. I was a Maths, Science and IT secondary school teacher from 1993 to 2011, mostly in Leyland and with a career break to be a homedad. I then worked at Great Crosby as a Maths specialist and Computing & Website Coordinator. I hope that my experience can be helpful in supporting staff.
My other interests include quizzing, cycling and genealogy.

Anne Pickup - Foundation Governor
I am a Southport person who studied Theology at Durham university. I have spent my career teaching Religious Education and English in a local high school and have been involved in pastoral work and safeguarding. I have three children, five grandchildren and a dog who all keep me very
busy. There are a number of reasons why Holy Family school is important to me and why I wish it to be the best school it can be – my late husband attended the school; I was on the Parish church council at Holy Family church in the early 1980s and was part of the fund raising team for building the new school; my own children were pupils there and two of my grandchildren are current pupils. I am a practising Catholic and believe it is very important that we make the most of our Catholic schools and bring children up to know Jesus and the teachings of the Gospel.

Jamie Tyrer - Vice Chair of Governors /Parent Governor
I was elected as parent governor in November 2023. I have a daughter who currently attends Holy Family and I live locally in Southport. I have served in the Royal Navy as a submariner for 22 years, leading a varied career in several different roles including operations management, finance, teaching and logistics and now work as a project manager within the civil and defence nuclear regulation industry. Outside of my work life I am actively involved with armed forces charities within the Southport and Merseyside areas.

Mike Anderson - Foundation Governor
I am a parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church, where I am a member of the music group. I am semi-retired after a lifetime spent in the IT industry and have been invited to join the Board of Governors at Holy Family School, which my eldest grandson attended during that phase of his life. My interests include music and these days watching sport. I hope I can make a useful contribution to the school.

Helen O'Connor - Foundation Governor
I was appointed Foundation Governor in December 2025, and I am keen to bring my interest and experience to the role. I was born in Liverpool and educated in Ormskirk before graduating from Oxford University with an MA Honours degree in French and Italian, and then studying for a Diploma in Librarianship. In between raising six children, I have worked in a number of jobs, including in libraries and book-selling, and I am currently employed as a playworker at an afterschool and holiday club for a local primary school. I have lived in Southport for nearly 5 years, and I am an active parishioner at Holy Family. My main interests are music and keeping fit (I run, swim, do Zumba, and go to the gym; not all at the same time!)

Angela Norton - Foundation Governor
I have been a parishioner of Holy Family Church since I moved to this area 10 years ago. I am a local lady, born and brought up in Southport. My Grandad bought his first home in Hillside so he could be near to the recently erected Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, and my Mum worked as a Teacher at Holy Family School when it was newly opened. My background is in Banking, Finance and Accountancy and I have worked in both Preston and Liverpool City Centre as a Manager and also across the North West. I have also worked in the Legal Sector and for a couple of local Charities in a Financial role. I took an interest in Education while my daughter attended local Schools and embarked upon qualifying as a Teaching Assistant to gain a better understanding of classroom challenges. I am very keen to encourage outdoor learning for children and for them to learn how simple Maths can help build important financial skills for their future when they take on mortgages and grow savings.
Now semi-retired and focusing my energy on Health, Wellbeing and fitness, I enjoy Dancing and Teaching Yoga. I love the outdoor life and spending time with my husband and 2 dogs exploring the UK countryside as much as possible.

Mrs Victoria Long - Parent Governor
I was appointed as Parent Governor in February 2026. My son currently attends Holy Family, so being involved as a governor is a great way for me to support the school and contribute to its continued success. I’m passionate about helping to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy their time at school. As a governor, I’m particularly interested in how the school supports pupils’ wellbeing and helps them reach their full potential.
I graduated university in 2006, with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Law (LL.B) and I am now a Senior Legal Costs Consultant, managing a team of fee earners and clients. This gives me useful skills in areas such as leadership and safeguarding/wellbeing. I am also a certified Mental Health First Aider and a Mentor on the Women in Costs mentoring scheme. I’m keen to use this experience to support the school and contribute to its continued development.
When I’m not working or involved with the school, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and travelling.
