Introducing the Staff:

Class Teachers – Mrs Carey (Mrs Appleton Wednesday morning)
Teaching Assistants – Mrs Scragg, Mrs Rimmer, Miss Magda, Miss Hands-Hibbert

How to support your child at home:

Daily Reading – It’s really important that your child reads regularly, ideally every night for at least 5 minutes. Every little helps. Please use the green reading record book to record comments. New books will be given on a Monday and Wednesday if children have read at home, a library book of free choice will be given on a Friday.
Spellings - will be given out each week and will be tested every Friday. Please see the Year 1 common exception words spelling lists, which are in addition to the weekly spellings. The national expectation is that children can spell all of those words by the end of their time at Holy Family alongside the words learnt each week that follow a spelling pattern or rule.
Maths basic skills – each week there will be the minimum expectation that children go onto NumBots for at least 20 minutes as part of their ongoing homework.

Things to remember:

All homework is set on a Friday and is due in on Wednesday morning.

PE is on Wednesday and Thursday. Remember to wear your PE kit on these days.

Please bring water bottles in daily.
